A growing nation become fortuitous by
following three to four main things: Human Capital - a measure of the skills,
education, capacity and attributes of labour which powers their productive
capacity and earning potential. No wonder why great countries invest so much in
education.
Second is physical infrastructure - an
important facilitator of economic activity and a prerequisite for inward
investment, trade and productive activities. We require great minds to work
through these economic challenges. Here comes the education again.
Third but the hardest is Good Governance - this
includes having efficient and transparent public-sector institutions, strong
laws on intellectual property rights, a fair competition law and an independent
judicial system. Education comes again along with Health and Law a.k.a Police
here.
Let's not talk about Sindh, Kpk or
Balochistan but Punjab - the largest province of Pakistan in every term whether
it is development, law or education, Punjab was growing massively than any
other province of Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan's agenda was of justice,
education, health & safety. He raised a clear message of "Parha Likha
Sehat Yaab Naya Pakistan", then how come nothing has changed? I ask him
why a person who is not even literate enough to read his own files, is in your
cabinet? Chief Minister Usman Buzdar's governance negligence shows that he is
incompetent. The 'Nara' was of Police & Educational reforms in the province
but there's nothing but the same old Punjab, in-fact it's going down.
I had no expectations from CM Buzdar because
the man himself has a illiterate personality, but imran khan did light hope in
our hearts. Imran Khan sell education as his top priority before elections. Huge
claims were made including migration of 150k children from private schools to
government schools; 100 percent increase
in educational budget; Quranic education
as a compulsory subject; recruitment of women teachers in education sector and
free education for every child in Pakistan. Now it all seems to be a part of history,
is education still a priority for Khan? The educational department has failed
to perform a single reform in its first year. As the budget for education has
gone low, the next years can be worst years for education. Nearly 25 million
children in Pakistan are still out of schools. This government has also
remained silent over this major issue like the past governments. To economy
from education, justice and health, Khan’s priority seems to be changed.
Speaking of justice, recently a video from Faisalabad
gone viral on social media of a man named Sallahuddin Ayyubi making faces and
sticking out his tongue at the CCTV camera before breaking the ATM machine and
getting a Atm card out of it. In the video, he didn’t take any money from the
Atm. On Sunday, he died under police custody. The SHO Mehmoodul Hassan, sub inspector
Shafaat Ali and ASI Matloob tortured him to death during his interrogation. I
imagine why twitter is trending with hashtags of CM’s resignation and police
reforms.
As a bank is useless without the money
likewise a country cannot be run without good governance. The key behind country’s
development is good governance. It shields the human rights, conveys the justice,
maintains the law and order and provides equal opportunities to the masses. It
is responsible for the progress and development in the country. It ensures the
educational opportunities for the public. If you see today’s scenario, it is
quite the opposite. Good governance is difficult to achieve totally but it still
needs well-intentioned people who brings ideas, experiences and other human
strengths.
